The Science Behind Our 6mm Alloy Bash Plates for D-MAX, MU-X and BT-50

Oils ain't oils Sol, and it turns out aluminium isn't aluminium either, and this is why it pays to have a team of engineers on your side.

We've got the awesome team at Milford Industries on our side, thankfully, and that literally guarantees that our bash plates, or Under Vehicle Protection (UVP) kits for the Isuzu D-MAX, MU-X and their twin-beneath-the-skin Mazda BT-50, are the best on the market.

Type 2 front plate to suit Rhino, Hamer, Ironman, OL and others.

Where some other kits use 6mm 5052 aluminium, Milford's testing revealed that it was prone to cracking when being bent, and wasn't really suitable, from a quality and longevity perspective.

Our plate design involves a number of complex bends with sharp angles, not only to add strength, but also to create the a/c overflow drain point, the super neat front plate attaching points as well as the innovative transfer case plate cross-member clamping section. So, cracking at bends wasn't going to work.

Type 1 front plate to suit the stock bumper, Isuzu, ARB and TJM bars.

Our design required an aluminium alloy that had superior formability properties to the 5052, and for that reason, 5005 H34 aluminium was chosen.

And, it comes with some interesting benefits, which include a flexural rigidity measurement (resistance to bending) that is the equivalent of 4.2mm mild steel, with a weight difference of 94 percent.

Unique stand alone transfer case plate. You can't do that with that with just any aluminium.

Or in other words, our 6mm 5005 H34 aluminium plates are stronger than the same plates made using 4mm mild steel but they're almost half the weight.
